Advanced Search Overview

A quick look at how to use advanced search fields for retailers, companies, and shopping locations.

Located near the search bar at the top of the page is an “Advanced Search” link. Clicking this link will bring you to a page where you can build search criteria for:
  • Retailers
  • Shopping Locations
  • Companies
  • People
At the top of this page you will see links to navigate between each search type.

Retailers

By default, the search is setup to show you results from all retailer types:
  • National Brands
  • Local and Regional Retail
  • Franchisors
You can narrow your search by deselecting a retailer type.
 
Search retailers by category
Using these dropdown menus, you can set up a search that displays only retailers within specific categories. When starting with a main category selected, the sub category list narrows to show sub-categories of the main category you selected.
 
Search retailers by name or keyword
With this field, you can search a retailer by name or any keywords that relate to the retailer.
 
Search co-located retailers
Type in and select a retailer to return a list of retailers that are co-located in shopping locations with that specific retailer.
 
Search retailers by status
  1. Select “Currently expanding” to see only retailers that have a confirmed expansion plan.
  2. Select “Filed for bankruptcy” to see only retailers that have filed bankruptcy documents in the last year.
  3. Select “Research has been completed” to see only retailers that our research team has recently spoken to.
 
Search by number of units
Type in a minimum and maximum number range to find retailers of a specific growth status. For example: Find single unit retailers by searching 1 to 1. Find emerging retailers by searching 5 to 20. Find established retailers by searching 100 for the minimum and leave the maximum blank.
 
Search retailers by the square footage they occupy
Select one or more square foot ranges to view retailers that occupy space within those ranges.
 
Search retailers within geographical locations
Begin by selecting if you want to see retailers operating (with units) in a specific geography or only results from retailers with their headquarters of main office in a specific geography. You can add multiple states or cities by typing and selecting the geographies you are interested in.
 

Shopping Locations

Begin by selecting what kind of shopping centers you would like to see. All shopping location types are selected by default.
 
Search shopping locations by name
If you are looking for a specific shopping center, you can search the name here. This field is also great for searching common shopping location extensions, such as “plaza” or “center” or “marketplace”.
 
Search shopping locations by companies they relate to
Type in a company name to see all the shopping locations they relate to. This is a great way to see who owns or operates locations in areas you are interested in.
 
Search shopping locations that include or do not include specific tenants or retail categories.
By selecting a retail category or specific retailer you can get shopping location results that give you a better understanding of tenant-mix and void-analysis insights.
 
Search shopping locations by area type
In the geographical setting you can select an area type to focus on. For example, select the “City Center” area type if you’re only interested in seeing shopping locations within city areas.
 

 

Companies

Begin by selecting the type of companies you are interested in seeing:
  • Commercial Real Estate Company
  • Development Authority
  • Brokerage
 
Find companies working with specific retailers
Type and select a retailer to see companies that associate to a that retailer.
 
Find companies relating to a shopping location
Type and select a shopping location to see what companies are involved or related to that shopping location.
 

People

With our advanced people search you can find people by name, title, company or retailer they work for. If you’re only interested in seeing the site selectors or decision makers we have identified, check the “Only display site selectors” box.
